The email below was sent out by Watson, to all apartment owners, on the 30th April 2024:

"It has come to our attention that one of the main communal soil stacks that serve many apartments that remove the wastewater from the apartments was blocked due to flushing an item in the drain that is not meant to be flushed, causing a blockage in the pipe.

This has caused the wastewater from other apartments to back up into some ground-floor apartments and flood their apartment. Please can we remind all the residents what they are flushing, putting down their sinks and showers, as we do not want a repeat of what has happened to some of the ground floors as it has caused damage and stress to the residents on the ground floor.

We do ask the residents to not put these items in the drainage whatsoever and to make sure that these items are disposed of correctly as advised by Yorkshire Water:

  • Grease and Cooking Fat
  • Wet Wipes and Paper Towels
  • Dental Floss
  • Coffee Grounds
  • Nappies

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact Watson."
